Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This match offered a chance for several Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
